Since its inception in 1993, the Friendship Quilt Guild has supported the local community in various ways including donating approximately 1,000 quilts. Each year 25 or more quilts of various sizes are given to the community. Quilt recipients include:

 

• Individuals who may be experiencing a serious illness or other adversities

• Communities with natural disasters, such as fires, floods, and tornadoes

• Brenham State Supported Living Center

• Child Protective Services

• New Beginnings

• Focusing Families Crisis Center

• Habitat for Humanity

• Hospice Brazos Valley

• Hospitals and local nursing homes

 

At various times local groups receive quilts for a specific fundraiser. These include:

 

• Brenham Fire Department - each year for their annual August fundraiser

• Camp For All

• Miracle Farms

• Adult Teen Challenge

• Margaret Blizzard Senior Activity Center
